my learning experience

I would say the flicker site, dealing with the digital pictures was my favorite, this site made learning experience fun. LibraryThing was enjoyable in that, you made a record of what types of books you have read, and adding tags to help locate others, that might be similar. The podcasts are interesting also, all these 3 or 5 minute little videos of what people are doing or thinging about can be interesting and amusing to watch.
I guess the way this process effects my lifelong learning is realizing that we never do stop learning new things, and now we have to try and keep current with technology to boot. I can just imagine what the computer will be like in another 10 years.
i had a look at many of the other blogs that staff put together. Some are simple like mine, but many are very involved. Alot of pictures, color and various type styles. People can do quite alot with them.
I could see in the future that libraries could use things like the podcasts to film a class, such as the internet classes we teach for seniors and have patrons watch the class from home, when ever they wished to do so. We could have things such as how to use the card catalog in a podcast, how to use the dewey decimal system. Patrons click on the one they want to see and get a little more personalized explanation.

summarize my thoughts

My surprise for the program was that I was able to finish it, and kept at it, to arrive at number 30. It did seem like an endless road at the start.
I did not like the way the program started, by that I mean that I was looking for a place that said something like "start here", to begin. Instead you had to hunt around on the site and then stumbled upon the 30 thing link, and this was the starting point. I was not the only one that found this a little difficult.
I would participate again.

Rollyo

I looked at rollyo, which seems to be a search tool, that groups sites for you on any topuc you choose. Not sure just how much better this is than an advanced search with something like google.
My account is "cheap home repair" http://www.rollyo.com/search.html?q=tiles&sid=339383

library thing

http://www.librarything.com/catalog/wjakob

This was a fun site to add the books you like, and hope others will enjoy them too.
I liked the was you add tags, and when you search for the book you get the dustjacket cover, this way you are sure it is the right one.

Summarize thoughts podcasts and video

Many of the library links would not allow me to access them, this was die to the city censorship. I was able to see the Charlotte Mecklinburg Library site. I went to Library Loft Podcasts and form two authors that have added a podcast to the site, Brent Hartinger and Patrick Jones. These were the only two that had the link, many others are there but do not link? To me, i find this tedious/time consuming to locate things that are happening at the library. It might be nice for someone that wants no contact with anyone, and they can find bits of information here and there, on their own. I think people would be better served coming into the building and asking for information.

podcasts

I added a podcast about kusp.org Life in the Fast Lane about about a New Energy Bill for corporate fuel economy standards. I went to NPR.com to find a directory of podcasts, and pasted this to my google reader account as an rss feed. Beth helped me through this process.
